Luke has been in the hospitality industry for over 25 years with the last 20 years solely focused in coffee.
During this time Luke has worked in many areas of hospitality such as kitchen, fine dining, waitering, bar, housekeeping, cafes and roasterys.
Once in coffee, Luke has worked in many different cafes and roasterys (Pioneer Coffee Roastery 2005 Co-Founder) conducted barista training, written and designed training programs and courses, competed in Barista and Latte Art Championships(2006 Latte Art Champion) and has been a Judge for the AASCA Barista Championships.
Luke has also developed The Barista Effect- A Beginners guide to preparing Espresso Coffee DVD as well as The Barista Insight - An In-Depth Guide at Pouring Latte Art DVD. Both now featured on the MyBarista YouTube channel.

In 2012, Luke set up and operated Ltd Espresso + Brew Bar located in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. During this time Ltd Espresso was voted Number 1 Cafe in Australia for 2013/2014 and Number in the World 2014(Beanhunter)
From 2015-2018, Luke travelled abroad as an international coffee consultant and ambassador representing and consulting for various companies in the UK, USA, Europe, Japan and New Zealand.
Luke returned to Australia in 2019 and set up a cycling cafe in conjunction with Black Sheep Cycling Apparel called The Woolshed. The cafe is still operating today as is rated as one of Brisbane’s top coffee destinations.
Most recently Luke has started venturing into product development and supply. After working with various supply companies, Luke created a line of beverages called Whistle Beverage Co. which is still being enjoyed and sold into numerous cafes and stores across Australia.
Currently Luke has a few more products in the pipeline and is always thinking up new ideas and possibilities for the cafe scene.
